2011
Infectious endocarditis remains a dreaded infectious disease worldwide. The complications of infectious endocarditis usually consist of congestive heart failure, abscesses in multiple organs, and neurological events. We present a 55-year-old man who presented to the emergency department with a chief complaint of sudden onset dizziness. Acute cerebrovascular accident caused by infectious endocarditis was diagnosed by brain magnetic resonance imaging and echocardiography. The patient received a complete course of antibiotics, and showed gradual improvement of neurological symptoms.
