Assisting in the Aftermath of Disasters (And Other Life Crises)
2011
That’s how I like to begin my DMH presentations to audiences that have come to learn more about crisis intervention with victims of disasters and other traumatic life events. The following is a brief summary of DMH concepts and techniques. Much of this material is drawn from the 1995 book, Disasters: Mental Health Interventions, published in Sarasota, FL by Professional Resource Press (Weaver, J., author), from subsequent chapters in three other books (Weaver, 2002, 1999, and 1996), from my Website (W W W. E Y E O F T H E S T O R M I N C . C O M ) , and from several journal articles. This is copyrighted material and it should not be reproduced without proper consent.
