The invention discloses a composite artificial bone material, comprising the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-99 parts of high-purity spherical nanocrystalline calcium sulphate powder with the purity being greater than 99.9%, and 1-80 parts of lyophilized cell powder. A preparation method of the composite artificial bone material comprises the following steps: preparing high-purity spherical nanocrystalline calcium sulphate powder; drying stem cells or osteoblasts of mesenchymal origin at the temperature of 0 to 80 DEG C in vacuum, preserving the activity, thereby obtaining lyophilized cell powder with abundant active substances; and evenly mixing the lyophilized cell powder with calcium sulfate powder, and pressing into tablets with different sizes. According to the composite artificial bone material disclosed by the invention, safe application of a human body can be ensured by using the high-purity spherical nanocrystalline calcium sulphate powder; the activity and the degradability of bone materials can be significantly improved by using the lyophilized cell powder with abundant active substances; compared with composite living cell components, irradiation sterilization can be carried out on the basis that a lot of active osteogenesis factors and functions are reserved; and the composite artificial bone material is convenient to store and transport at room temperature for a long period of time, and can be treated and processed according to an implant material way.
