Impact of Wind Power Integration on Line Loss of Distribution System

2014
Along with the continuingly decrease of fossil energy, the development and utilization of the renewable energy are so amazing, especially the development of wind power which is as quick as a flash.So,grid-integration is an irresistible trend of the operation of wind power. The point of common coupling(PCC) of wind farms usually locates in the end of the distribution network,so that wind power are usually transmitted to the clients over a long distance, which will affect the whole economic benefit of the power system because of the line loss. Therefore, the scheme of the wind farm integrating to the grid becomes the attention of related study.Firstly, this paper analyzes the influence of the wind farm integration on the line loss of the whole power system.Secondly, the paper establishes the equivalent model of the grid-connection wind farm.Based on all of this,in order to reduce the line loss of the whole distribution network, this paper discusses the best integration point and the best appropriate optimal power flow using optimal power flow method. At last, the paper uses PSASP to simulate the influence of the different grid-integration point on the line loss of the distribution network based on the IEEE 12-node model. The results will help to formulate reasonable scheme of the wind power integration and improve the economic benefits of the distribution system including wind power.
