Industry business meetings and associated travel over the past decade has grown into an independent business area. The amount of funds annually spent worldwide on business meetings, conferences and exhibitions is estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars. About two-thirds of major international business activities are carried out in hotels that have their own business areas and facilities for meetings and negotiations, namely at congress hotels. Pursuant to such amendments, congress hotels should be developed. The main purpose of the paper is an analysis of European experience of business tourism; taking a scientific approach to defining the notion of Congress Hotel in foreign and domestic literature; characterizing the hospitality businesses and offering possible use of space in the conference halls. Technological parameters of automatic mobile chair system which allows the use of available space as a banquet, demonstration or exhibition halls have been given.
