The author tries to evaluate the prospects of the investment potential increase of Russian oil complex. The most actual task is to increase performance effectiveness at each stage of operating process which means every operating step from carbohydrates production to marketing of final products. The topicality is important because attracting investments are in direct proportion to oil complex operation effectiveness. The author suggests his own approach to the essence of the investment potential. This approach is necessary to realize the main point of the investment potential and provide competitive advantage of business. It is proposed to evaluate the investment potential monitoring the current situation and forecasting prospect. The author proposes to focus on the factors that have a negative impact on the investment attractiveness of the oil companies. The Russian market, which is certainly attractive, remains to foreign investors highly risky not only from the standpoint of traditional investment risks. The author points out the high probability of losses due to specific risks of Russian economy.
