Diffusion and penetrability of deuterium in the alloy Pd−53 at.%Cu

1992
The method of flow determination in the dynamic regime over the temperature range 600-1070 K is used to study the diffusion coefficient D and penetration coefficient P of deuterium in the alloy Pd-53 at.% Cu. It is found that P and D for deuterium in an ordered specimen of the alloy (annealed at 733 K 24 hr, slow cooling to room temperature over 72 h) having B2 structure are greater than in a quenched unordered specimen of the same alloy (quenched from 1323 K, retained 1 hr in oil) having an hcp-structure
