Silicon-containing polyesters based on organosilicon dicarboxylic acids and aromatic diols

Polyesters [COPhSi(R') 2 OSi(R') 2 PhCOORO] n (R'= Me, Et; R= Ph, Ph(Cl), PhPh, Ph(Me) 2 CH 2 Ph(Me) 2 , Ph(Me) 2 C(Me) 2 Ph(Me) 2 , PhXPh (X= COO, O, SO 2 C(Me) 2 C(Ph) 2 , C(Me)(Ph))) were synthesized. The ester sequence reproduces the mesogenic figment of liquid crystalline (LC) polymers. The synthesized polyesters do not exhibit LC properties, and their structure is partly crystalline and partly amorphous
