Functional Outcomes of Microdiscectomy- Does Obesity affect Early Postoperative Outcomes?

RESULTS: study population (Both groups together) had significant mean reduction of pain of 29% (p < 0.0001) and a statistically significant mean improvement of the physical component score of their quality of life of more than 13 points or 40% (p < 0.0001) after microdiscectomy. The mental aspect of their quality of life had a statistically significant 8.5 points (19%) improvement (p < 0.0001). Table 2 and Fig 2 summarize pre- and post operative scores of each group.
