Novel Heterocyclic Ring Systems Containing Heavier Group 13 Elements

Abstract The reactivities of the new dihydrides, [2,6-(Me2NCH2)2C6H3]MH2 (M = Al, Ga), and the bis-azide, [2,6-(Me2NCH2)2C6H3]Ga(N3)2 have been investigated. The indium tetramer, [InC(SiMe3)3]4, has been prepared via the metathetical reaction of LiC(SiMe3)3.2 THF with InCl. The first neutral galla- and indacyclopentadienes have been synthesized by treatment of the zirconacycle, (η5-C5H5)2 Zr(C4Me4) with Ar'MCl2 (Ar' = 2,4,6-t-Bu3C6H2; M = Ga, In).
