EL PAISAJE EXISTENCIAL. CONSIDERACIONES SOBRE EL VALOR GEOGRÁFICO DE LA OBRA DE

2009
This article analyses some of the most important geographical features of the work of the Catalan poet, writer and intellectual Joan Maragall (Barcelona, 1860-1911). The analysis focuses on his appreciation of the landscape; an appreciation that is primarily based on the senses and emotions, rather than on the intellect, and which is present throughout his work (although being particularly evident in his poetry). Moreover, this appreciation of the landscape manifests some important similarities with the writings of Miguel de Unamuno, a contemporary of Maragall and a person with whom he formed a fruitful friendship throughout his life.
