HARRY KEIL OBITUARY

To the Editor.— In the May 1968 issue of theArchivesa belated obituary appeared in honor of Harry Keil, a New York dermatologist, whose writings on the cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases—most notably the erythemata and connective tissue diseases—remain models of scholarship to this day. The statement that his monograph on "Rheumatic Nodules" was published in the Quarterly Journal of Medicine , a British journal, is incorrect. The article in question comprised the entire September 1938 issue of Medicine (17:261-380)— which at that time was published as a quarterly, although of late it is published every other month—and is entitled "The Rheumatic Subcutaneous Nodules and Simulating Lesions." In my opinion, it would be worthwhile to publish Keil's full bibliography, most of which is still worth reading or rereading.
