Chapter 2 – Perspectives on Behavioral Development

Abstract This chapter provides a theoretical overview of behavioral development. The first section summarizes advances in the study of behavioral development, beginning with historical perspectives then covering more contemporary theories. The second section emphasizes the importance of one particular experience, attachment, in the development of behavior using both human and animal studies.
