Agricultural machinery must not damage the field crop while operation. However, when machinery makes turning at the end of the ridge, especially in a small field, there is a limit to the degree of damage to the crops. In this study, a machine that can traverse across the ridge and furrows was developed in order to minimize the damage caused by the turning. The developed prototype has system which raise and lower the wheels, transport those wheels horizontally, and drive front and backwards. The mechanism of traversing ridge and furrow was implemented in the machine system. The whole system was operated by electric power, weighed 416 kg, driving velocity of 0.45 m/s, and it took about 90 seconds to cross the furrow. The mechanism and operation principle implemented in this work will lead to the development of a practical machinery which save the loses due to turning of machine in the field.
