Ceramic capacitors. Some recent developments

1962
The paper commences with a brief resume of suitable types of ceramic capacitor in current use, including normal and high-permittivity types. Some of the lesser-known properties of the latter are mentioned. This is followed by a description of some special forms, e.g. feed-through (tubular and disc, with emphasis on the superior v.h.f. properties of the latter), stacked and pluggable types. The paper concludes with descriptions of new high-permittivity dielectrics with improved stability and high-temperature properties, barrier-layer dielectrics having an effective permittivity of up to half a million, and current developments towards further miniaturization of capacitors.
