Comunidades en movimiento ante el cambio climático. ¿Resistentes o resilientes? El caso de Paipote, Chile

2019
Resilience has been installed as a nodal category in the explanation of human adaptation to climate change. This paper explores the dialectical relationship between the production of vulnerability and the emergence of community resilience in the face of extreme events, studying the Paipote’s case, Chile. In conclusion, we affirm the importance of recognizing the role of the resilience of territorialized communities, and their normative component of resistance to the (re) production of vulnerability, understanding that their analysis must be accompanied by the reduction of spatial injustices and (multi) risk. environmental sites
