Virtual Energy Router-Based Energy Internet Optimization: Comprehensive Investigation and Discussion

To achieve a more efficient, commercial and informational multi-energy system, Energy Internet is developed to maximize the utilization of distributed generation. However, the intermittent and uncertain nature of renewable sources pose a critical challenge on the efficiency and security improvement of Energy Internet. Therefore, this paper proposes a virtual energy router-based framework for Energy Internet and its novel characteristics are analyzed. Furthermore, several emerging key technologies for this new Energy Internet are comprehensively introduced, which can be utilized into the real-world applications for sustainable development.
