Digital mirror device

An electronic mirror device (1) is provided with the following: a camera (2) for imaging a user; a display (3) having a display surface at a position that can be seen by the user who is being imaged by the camera (2); and a controller for outputting to the display (3) an image of the user imaged by the camera (2). The controller creates a mirror image by inverting in the left and right direction a live image of the user being imaged by the camera (2), reads a reference image that is compared to the mirror image of the live image of the user, synthesizes a display image for displaying the mirror image of the live image and the reference image in regions overlapping each other in the display (3), and outputs the same to the display (3).
