AIDS law in effect in Pennsylvania.

1991
: The "Confidentiality of HIV-Related Information Act" signed by Governor Casey on November 29, 1990, became effective February 27, 1991. Hospitals have an additional 60 days--until April 28--to establish written confidentiality procedures. The Act's provisions are generally consistent with traditional medical consent and confidentiality concepts tailored to the special circumstances surrounding the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
