Geophysics beyond resources

The current Executive Committee is concerned about the long term future of SEG and feels that we should think strategically about the SEG of the future. SEG's demographics—an aging membership and a dearth of new young blood entering the field—are but some of the drivers for this concern. In a rapidly changing world, SEG must use its resources in a visionary manner to benefit its members. In attempting to look ahead, I have given considerable thought to what makes SEG unique and where SEG will be in the future.
