Adsorption of Albumin to Porous Silicas

1988
Abstract The adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA) to porous silica gels and porous silica glasses having broad range of pore diameters has been studied. The adsorbed amounts of BSA from pure water solution and from the 0.9% sodium chloride solution to silicas having non-modified, and amine- and vinyl-modified surfaces were found to depend upon the pore sizes of these adsorbents.
