HİPOTİROİDİLİ BİR KÖPEKTE ELEKTROKARDİYOGRAFİK ve EKOKARDİYOGRAFİK DEĞİŞİKLİKLER

Ozet Kopeklerde yaygin olarak karsilasilan endokrin bir hastalik olan hipotiroidizm, deri, sinir, uriner, gastro-intsetinal, reproduktif, iskelet-kas sistemi ve gozde yapmis oldugu bozukluklarin yani sira kardiyo-vaskuler sistemde de onemli bozukluklara yol acmaktadir. Bu vakada, klinik bulgular ve laboratuvar testleri sonucunda primer hipoliroidizm saptadigimiz (K<-4), 8 yasli erkek Shetland irki coban kopeginde kardiyo-vaskuler sistemde meydana gelen degisiklikler gerek elektrokardiyografik gerekse ekokardiyografik olarak tespit edildi. Yapilan elektrokardiyografik olcumler sonucunda, kalp atim sayisi 120 atis/dakika iken hastada sino-atriyal blok gibi ritim bozuklugunun oldugu gozlendi. Elektrokardiyografik dalga amplitudlerinin azaldigi (P AmplItud < 0.2 mV ve R amplitud <1.5 mV) fakat herhangi bir morfolojik bozukluk icermedigi tespit edildi. Ekokardiyografik muayeneler sonucu, sag ventrikul ve interventrikuler septumda hipokinezi gozlendi. Sol venirikul sistolik-diastolik ile sol atrium capinin ve sol ventrikul kasilma gucunun (FS %26) azaldigi belirlendi. Sol ventrikul arka duvar kalinligi ve aort capi normal sinirlardaydi. ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHIC AND ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY CHANGES IN A HPOTHYROID DOG Summary Hypothyroidism which is one of the generally encountered endocrin diseases in dogs, that effects skin, nerves, urinary system, gastro-intestinal system, reproductive system, musculoskeletal system and eye and beside makes serious defects in the cardio-vase ular system. In this case, which we diagnosed as primary hypothyroidism via clinical symptoms and laboratuary tests (K<-4) in a 8 aged male Shetland breed sheepdog cardio-vascular system disturbances were determined by electrocardiographic and echocardiographic methods. As the result of the electrocardiographic measurements, while the heart rate was 120 beat/minute, rhythm disturbances such as sino-atrial block was observed. It was determined that electrocardiographic wave amplitudes were decreased (P amplitude < 0.2 mV and R amplitude <1.5 mV), but there were no morphological abnormalites. In the echocardiographic examinations, right ventricular and intraventricular septal hypokinesia were observed. Decreased left ventricular systolic-diastolic with left atrium diameter and left ventricular fractional shortening (FS %26) were observed. Left ventricular posterior wall and aort diameters were in normal limits. Key Words: Hypothyroid, electrocardiography, echocardiography, dog.
