Erst-Nachweis der Südlichen Eichenschrecke, Meconema meridionale (Costa, 1860), in Bremen

2007
For the first time, some individuals of Meconema meridionale have been found in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. The species has been increasingly documented in Germany during the last decades, particularly in the Rhine valley and in the Ruhr area. Some recent records from Belgium and the Netherlands are also known. The new record from Bremen represents the northernmost locality, where the species has been found in Europe so far. Including the new record, the number of indigenous Orthoptera in Bremen increases to 31 species. Zusammenfassung
