LARGE-SCALE PREPARATION OF DISPERSIVE CARBON NANOTUBES BY ARC-DISCHARGE METHOD

1998
Sintering-free, dispersive, large area and high density carbon nanotubes(CNTs) were obtained in arc-discharge. Both the quality and the production of the CNTs were improved. SEM study showed that the dispersive CNTs intertwined and aligned randomly in the sample. The growth mechanism of the CNTs and the formation of the morphologies in the arc-discharge were discussed.
