Pediatric Use of the ST. JUDE MEDICAL ® Prosthesis

Virtually all of the chapters in this book to this point have emphasized that every patient with a mechanical valve prosthesis should be on warfarin anticoagulation. We have developed experimental, clinical data over the past five years that supports the proposition that such anticoagulants are not always needed.
