TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS IN CONCRETE STRUCTURES

1979
The paper contains temperatures measured in concrete bridges during the hardening period. The bridges were insulated on the upper side with 50 mm mineral wool during the first 14 days of the hardening period. The measurements show that the selected insulation is sufficient to ensure that the difference between the temperature in the middle of the concrete and the surface is less than 20 deg C. In this case probably no cracks will arise from the temperature-gradients in the concrete. (TRRL)
