Okul Öncesi Dönemde Anne-Çocuk Birlikte Hikâye Kitabı Okuma Davranışlarının İncelenmesi

The aim of the research is to investigate mother-child shared storybook reading behaviors. The sample of the research, which is designed in the descriptive survey model, consists of 436 mothers whose children attend to kindergarten. The data were collected using CEBOE (Child-Parent Shared Reading Activities Scale). In addition to descriptive statistics, Student’s t test, Mann-Whitney U test, One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that mothers always participated in interactive reading, opinions of shared reading, and the importance of literacy; they occasionally participated in the dimension of literacy teaching, and rarely participated in the dimension of modeling literacy. In addition, it was found that mothers’ shared reading behaviors were differed in accordance to mothers’ level of education and the number of children they had; the frequency in which they read to their children, the time they spend in reading to their children, the number of books they could read to their children, and the age of the child when mothers bought them their first book.
