Ground surface loading and unloading model test above a tunnel on deformation behavior of tunnel lining

To establish a method to evaluate the tunnel deformation behavior of a tunnel due to embank- ing and ground surface excavation above it, loading and unloading model tests were conducted on 2-d plane strain situations. This paper describes the results of these model tests and simulation by FEM analysis.
