Persistent vaginitis caused by metronidazole-resistant trichomonas.

We report two cases of exceptionally persistent and prolonged infection despite repetitive and varied treatments, including parenteral metronidazole. An unconventional approach combining oral and topical therapy resulted in clinical and microbiologic cure in both cases
