STANDARDIZATION OF 153SM

Abstract Solutions of 153 Sm were standardised by 4 π (PC)- γ counting and an intrinsic Ge spectrometer was employed to measure the relevant gamma-ray emission probabilities. Measurements were also made using a re-entrant high pressure ionisation chamber to accurately determine the half-life. The results are P γ (103 keV)=0.285(5)  γ 's per decay and t 1/2 =46.285(4) h.
