STRESS ON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Objective: The objective of this study was to compa re the stress level of high school children of rura l and urban areas of Pauri district, U. K. Methodology: T he sample consisted of 120 (60 urban & 60 rural) hi gh school students of Pauri district (U. K.); average age of the student is 15 years. All subjects were r andomly selected on the basis of their availability and pre sence in the school. Miller & Allen Stress Inventor y was used as a tool which has made for high school stude nts. Results: To compare the level of stress indepe ndent t-test was used. The test showed that there is sign ificant difference between rural and urban high sch ool students in relation to stress as ‘t’ value was fou nd significant (3.32), whereas required value was (at 0.05 level of significance. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the present study, it was concluded that there is significant difference found on stress lev el in rural high school students and urban high sch ool students.
