The Properties of Surface Passivated PbS Quantum Dots

2019
Herein, the efficiency of solution-phase ligand exchange of Lead sulfide quantum dots (PbS QDs) with two different iodide salts, namely, methylammonium iodide (MAI) and perovskite (MAPbI3) was investigated. The effects of different passivation on the optical properties and surface chemistry properties of PbS QDs films were described. The results show that both passivation can effectively remove oleate ligands. Compared with PbS QDs films treated by MAI, the MAPbI3 treatment result in enhanced passivation: the enhancement of iodine (I-ion) incorporation, the strengthening dot-to-dot interaction and the increase of PL intensity. These results provide a path for studying high quality PbS QDs films.
