Spontaneous intra-uterine total rupture of a velamentous umbilical cord; a case report

1990
Abstract A case of spontaneous intra-uterine total rupture of a velamentous umbilical cord is reported. Shortly after delivery of an exsanguinated stillborn, a completely separated cord was spontaneously delivered. At its insertion the umbilical cord was velamentous, and it consisted of only three vessels at the site of rupture.
