Congenital Malformations of the Lung

2001
A review of the published literature gives the impression that congenital pulmonary malformations are infrequent. We usually think of them as occurring only during childhood. However, the lack of symptoms in the majority of congenital pulmonary malformations makes them go undetected until adult age. It is not rare to discover abnormalities due to congenital malformations in chest radiographs of adults. If we ignore this possibility, important errors in diagnosis and management are bound to occur.
