A method for producing biodiesel with improved filtration properties and correspondingly produced biodiesel

A method for producing and purifying Fettsaureestern of lower alkyl having improved filtration properties, comprising the steps of: (a) a mixture of Transverestern Fettsaureestern of glycerin with a lower alkyl alcohol using an alkaline catalyst; (B) separating from step (a) the resulting reaction mixture into a glycerine phase and a Fettsaureniederalkylesterphase; (C) inactivating the present in the Fettsaureniederalkylesterphase catalytic intermediates; (D) removing the lower alkyl alcohol from the group of step (c) the resulting mixture by evaporation at reduced pressure to a value of less than 2 wt .-%; (E) treating the of step (d) the resulting evaporation residue with water; and (f) isolating the fatty acid ester of lower alcohols by drying of step (e) the resulting product; and containing biodiesel FAME produced by this method.
