The invention discloses a method and a system for judging terminal states, and an RCS-e (rich communication suite-e) server. The method includes enabling a first terminal to transmit second terminal state query requests to the RCS-e server via a core network; enabling the RCS-e server to query a current state of a second terminal according to the second terminal state query requests; enabling the RCS-e server to feed query results to the first terminal if the query results indicate that the second terminal in the current state is an offline RCS-e business terminal or a non-RCS-e business terminal so that a user of the first terminal can accurately know the current state of the second terminal. The method, the system and the RCS-e server have the advantages that the state of the second terminal can be accurately known by the user of the first terminal in real time, so that the user of the first terminal can decide whether to carry out communication operation on the second terminal in a follow-up procedure or not according to the current state of the second terminal, and mistaken decision-making due to the fact that the user of the first terminal does not accurately know the current state of the second terminal can be effectively prevented.
