Convective flows in solutions of polyacrylonitrile on contact with precipitators

The appearance of convective flows in solutions of PAN in DMAA on contact with different precipitators was investigated. The number of flows, rate of their evolution, and volume of liquid added to the polymer solution were quantitatively estimated as a function of the viscosity of the liquid and type of precipitator. The possible causes of the appearance of convective flows were examined.
