The present invention achieves an angle error correction device and angle error correction method for a position detector that make it possible to accurately estimate and correct angle error. A position detector detects the rotation position of an electric motor and includes a periodic error determined consistently according to the rotation position. A current detection unit detects the current flowing through the electric motor. A frequency analysis unit analyzes the frequency of the current detected by the current detection unit using the rotation position of the electric motor and calculates the amplitude of a specific frequency component corresponding to angle error. On the basis of the amplitude calculated by the frequency analysis unit and the rotation position of the electric motor, an angle error estimator estimates, as an estimated angle error value, an angle error comprising the specific frequency component. Using the estimated angle error value, an angle error correction unit corrects the angle error of the rotation position of the electric motor detected by the position detector.
