Research Strategy on Breeding for Disease Resistance in Chickens

The control of poultry disease has been the problems in poultry industry.In addition to raising the management level and applocation of drugs and vaccines to control diseases,improving the chicken's own resistance to diseases and the screening and cultivation of disease resistant chickens have increasngly shown its unique advantages in the production of the mordern poultry industry.Breeding for disease resistance by genetic engineering has become a hot research.Resistance to disease is controlled by many facotrs and screening for disease resistance genes is a key element in disease resistance breeding.The author gave a brief introduction of disease resistance genes in chickens and proposed that trangenic engineering of breeding for disease resistance may become a powerful tools in the future.Finally the author prospected the foreground of breeding for disease resistance in chickens.
