Surface modification of medical implanted titanium alloy by laser interference

2021
In this paper, silver was used as an antibacterial agent, the periodic micro/nanostructure was fabricated on the surface of titanium alloy by laser-induced interference, and silver was fused with titanium alloy at the same time. It was expected to obtain titanium alloy functional surface with good antibacterial properties and friction reduction. The physical and biological properties of six groups of samples with different silver film thicknesses of 0–500nm, Ag 50nm , Ag 100nm , Ag 200nm , Ag 300nm , Ag 400nm and Ag 500nm were tested. The results showed that the friction coefficient of the modified sample decreases by 60%. All the samples showed good antibacterial activity against S.aureus, which increased with the increase of silver film thickness.
