Atividade de voo das abelhas Melipona quadrifaciata (Mandaçaia) e Melípona scutellares (Uruçu) no fragmento de Mata Atlântica em São Cristóvão, Sergipe

2018
The objective of this research was to evaluate the flight behavior of bees Melipona scutellares (Urucu) and Melipona quadrifaciata (Mandaca), analyzing and counting how many bees came in and out with specific loads like pollen, resin and clay in the corbicula, loads of nectar and water they carry in the chat, and the garbage that is removed from the colony using the jaws. The flow is also analyzed according to the temperature and relative humidity of the air, being possible to adopt strategies of implantation of meliponario and set more appropriate times so that the management of the colonies can be carried out, being favorable to the good development of the species, and the interactions and adaptation of different species in the same space. The time taken in the research was restricted from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this interval being the foraging activity, as a result of the research was notorious the flow in days of discharge humidity and low temperature directly affected flight activities, with the number of bees being smaller in the field, and the morning period from 5:00 am to 11:00 am was the highest intensity. And the most significant loads were nectar and water, followed by pollen, for both species, and there may be a period in which the two species the same floristic resource, requiring more research in this area to are more preferable to species in study.
