Propagation Band Structure of Lattice Photonic Crystal in THz Range

In order to gain the propagation characteristics of two-dimensional triangular lattice photonic crystal in THz range,the influence of three main factors such as packing ratio,dielectric constant ratio and lattice constant on complete forbidden band of 2D lattice photonic crystal in THz range was studied.The relations among packing ratio,lattice constant,maximal complete forbidden bands for the different dielectric constant ratios and the corresponding structural parameters were obtained by optimization calculation carried out with MATLAB software,respectively.Bands gap varies with the packing ratio and lattice constant.For the same lattice structure,the larger the dielectric constant ratio is,the larger the complete forbidden band will be.The photonic band structure was also shown by the photonic density of states.This research provides theoretic basis for the development of THz devices.
