The present invention relates to a preparation method of hydrogen storage alloy electrode material-spherical hydrogen storage alloy powder: MmNi3.8Co0.5Mn0.4Al0.2Li0.1(Mm is La-enriched mixed rare-earth metal), LaNi4.2Sn0.1Al0.5, TiNi, Ti2Ni, TiNi0.9Al0.1, Ti3Ni1.75Mn0.25, Zr(V0.2Mn0.2Ni0.4Co0.2)2.4 and Mg2Ni0.75Pb0.1Ti0.15. Gas spray method is adopted for preparation, and said spherical hydrogenstorage alloy is favourable for compactive stacking, and its compact density is high, and its negative electrode of same volume can receive more hydrogen storage alloy powder.
