Research status of vestibular praroxysmia

Vestibular praroxysmia is a kind of external vestibular disease which can cause vertigo.The incidence of Vestibular praroxysmia is so low that has been missed diagnosis easily, which takes repeated and short vertigo as the main characteristics. The etiology and pathogenesis of Vestibular praroxysmia is not clear. MRI imaging findings and brainstem auditory evoked potential examination is considered to have certain significance to the diagnosis. Most MRI imaging findings of the patients with vestibular praroxysmia can find Neurovascular Cross Compression. Now treatment adpots antiepileptic rugs, commonlycarbamazepine. Microvascular decompression is also a treatment in some report. Key words: Vestibular Diseases; Vertigo; vestibular praroxysmia
