The Molecular Epidemiological Investigaton of Hantavirus in Bayannaoer Region

Objective:to explore the molecular epidemiology of hantavirus carried by hosts in the city of Bay- annaoer in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Methods:collecting rodents in the Bayannaoer areas,rats lungs were detected by indirect immunofluorescence assay(IFA).The hantaviral S gene of positive samples were covered by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and then phylogenetic tree was constructed based on S segments(620-999 nt).Results:a total of 200 rodents were trapped,and hantavirus antigens were identified in 6 out of these lung samples.Phylogenetic analysis of these S segment sequences indicated that all viruses belonged to Seoul virus(SEOV).Conclusion:the main genotype of hantavirus carried by Rattus norvegicus in Bayannaoer Region were S1 subtype of SEOV.
