Preparation and dislocation density determination of large, pure RbMnF3 and KMnF3 single crystals☆

Abstract A detailed description is given of apparatus and methods, based on Czochralski growth, for the routine preparation of RbMnF 3 and KMnF 3 single crystals of high optical and chemical quality. A technique for etch pit formation to reveal dislocations in these crystals is also discussed.
