Genetic and biological characteristics of Typhula ishikariensis from Northern Iceland
2004
Isolates of snow mold fungus, Typhula ishikariensis, from Akureyri in Northern Iceland were divided into two groups according to culture morphology and results of mating reactions with testers of T. ishikariensis biological species I and II from Japan and Norway. Isolates in both groups showed a similar mycelial growth pattern of thermal dependence. This is first report of the genetic characteristics of T. ishikariensis from Iceland.
