Vertical movement of the metal elements from rock to leaf and their plant stress spectral response in metal mines

In this paper, we select the Duobaoshan and Tongshan copper mine as the experiment area. The spectrums and samples of rock, soil and typical plants were collected in the test area, 13 metal elements in the rock, soil and plant, as well as biological parameters were all measured. It is indicated that there exists a decreasing trend for the vertical transport of elements within rock-soil-vegetation, and an increasing trend for the wavelet energy coefficients extracted from its spectrum. The absorption of plant leaves' metal enrichment is selective, which has formed spectral evolution of plant leaves, therefore it is mainly manifested that both red edge position and absorption depth are different. And the spectral features were related to the contents of chlorophyll and protein. A multivariable regression equation was built between the absorption depths and the contents of metal elements. The relative coefficients of Cu, Ni, Ag, W and As are greater than 0.9. Thus, it is important to analyze and measure the contents of metal elements by hyper-spectral remote sensing of vegetation stress spectrum.
