An Efficient Implementation of Fast Direct Method of Moments for Half-Space Green’s Function on Multi-Core Platform

2015
AbstractThe method of moments with a half-space Green’s function is of paramount importance to problems that involve an infinitely large ground plane, such as scattering from sea-or land-based targets. A fast direct matrix factorization method based on dynamic matrix compression is presented for improving computational efficiency. This method is especially useful for simulating mono-static radar cross-section for which a large number of incident angles need to be considered. This approach was further accelerated by multi-core programming. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate its accuracy and efficiency.
