A new equation for polymer oxidation reactions

An empirical equation permitting the description of oxygen absorption as a function of time for all steps of oxidation of a number of heterochain polymers of linear and three-dimensional structure: polycarbonate, polycaproamide, epoxy resin, etc., is proposed. A suggestion is made that a compound inhibiting oxidation is formed along with the oxidizing product.
